Ankara has a new landmark with an international appeal; The Presidential Symphony Concert Hall building with its focus on culture aims to prove an asset to both local and global music scene while being the instigator of interaction and exchange among citizens. The Presidential Symphony Concert Hall lies in the heart of the city, right in the middle of an axis connecting the historic Ankara Castle and Anıtkabir, the Mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk (the founder of Turkish Republic). It is embedded in a relatively abandoned urban landscape, which is the only gap looking towards Anıtkabir and the historic Ankara Citadel from Ataturk Boulevard, which functions as the main avenue since the first urban plans of Ankara. The decision was to avoid interrupting the views of both the Citadel and the Mausoleum.

The Presidential Symphony Concert Hall은 수도 중심지에 위치한 앙카라 성부터 터키의 개혁가이자 초대 대통령인 Mustafa Kemal Atatürk의 영묘 Anıtkabir를 연결하는 축의 한가운데 위치했다. 현지 문화를 적극 반영한 심포니 콘서트 홀은 세계적인 음악가의 무대를 다수 선보임으로써 시민들 사이의 상호작용과 교류를 끌어올리는 중요한 매개로 작용한다. 이 프로젝트는 두드러진 두 가지 특징을 가지고 있다. 하나는 앙카라라는 도시의 역사를 품은 상징성이다. 앙카라 성과 Anıtkabir, 두 기념비적인 건축물과 현대 문화적인 요소를 결합한 특별한 장소이자 조형물로서의 가치다. 두 번째는 시대를 초월한 건축물의 형태와 공간적 특성에 관한 것이다.

The project stood out among other competition entries with two prominent features: One is this subtle symbolism concerning the dialogue of the premodern and modern-republican histories of the city. The design strategy prioritizes vistas of both monuments and establishes the dialogue by being a contemporary cultural destination in between. The second concerns the timeless form and spatial qualities of the complex. According to the jury report, the building reveals a symbolic architecture that will not wear out over time, avoiding a design language that can be valid for a certain period of time.

The Presidential Symphony Concert Hall의 로비는 시간이 경과함에 따라 아름답게 변화하는 빛의 굴절을 관찰할 수 있다. 구조적인 삼각형의 프리즘과 더불어 세련된 디자인은 이용자 다수의 취향을 반영하는 도시형 인테리어로 구축됐다. 앙카라 중심에 위치한 이곳은 지역의 랜드마크로 자리했으며, 주요 건물을 가로지르는 위치적인 특성과 인상적인 비주얼로 많은 이들의 기억 속에 각인된다. 이 프로젝트는 소방·기후 규정, 지진 규제 등 시시각각 변경된 사항에 따라 여러 번 재설계가 시도되었다. Uygur의 건축가들은 새로운 기술과 진보된 건설 개발의 도움을 받아, 본래의 개념을 고수하면서 세부사항에 대한 해결책을 업데이트할 수 있었다.

The symbolical approach is depicted by the distinct and dynamic Euclidean forms and their poetic compositions. Foyer and the concert halls are located on the lowest level of the site and a reflection pool surrounded them. The pool mirrors the sky, the city and the halls around, reflecting the different weather conditions and redefining the atmosphere e ver y single day. On both sides of this rectangular pool, two identical buildings are positioned diagonally, as if popping out of the earth, enigmatizing and embracing the concert halls. Guest's experience is a clear incentive which eschews a singular roof or facade to convey a sculptural structure composed of seemingly independent forms and the balance of curvilinear and sharp-edged buildings.

거대한 달걀 모양의 돔 내부는 2,000명의 관객을 수용할 수 있는 심포니 오케스트라 홀, 500명의 관객이 착석 가능한 체임버 오케스트라 홀로 구성됐다. 가장 저층에 위치한 공연장은 연주자들이 정중앙에 위치하고 객석이 무대를 에워싼 형태다. 관중들은 가파르게 경사진 계단식 좌석에서 시야에 방해받지 않게 오케스트라 연주를 즐길 수 있다. 건물 위쪽으로는 행정 및 교육 시설과 전문 스튜디오 등 공연을 기획하고 서포트하는 사람들의 공간이 숨어있다. The Presidential Symphony Concert Hall은 시민들 간 소통의 장을 마련하는 한편, 터키와 세계 음악계의 자산을 증명하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다.
